So you want to know what to do when you are ghosted by a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Being “Ghosted” or ghosting is a term people use to refer to a covert and immature way of breaking up with someone where the person simply stops responding to texts, phone calls, social messages and any other form of communication.
Rather than tell the other person that they want to break up, the ghosting person simply disengages as though the other person no longer exists.
The person being dumped in this immature way simply has to figure it out.
It’s actually pretty cruel.
If you are going through it, you know what it feels like so don’t do it to someone else!
If you want to break up with someone, don’t ghost them.
Do it face to face if possible and really give the relationship a chance to work even if things aren't going well at the moment.
What can you do if you’ve been ghosted?
But you can save dignity and give them a chance to miss you by not chasing them.
If not, consider it your gain to be free of someone who would do that to another.
If they are willing to do this to you now, they'll likely ghost you again in the future.
Here's the deal:
Think about it, rather than wanting to speak with you to see if the relationship could work and to communicate like a mature person/adult, this person has decided to cut you off, ignore you, and remove all contact without even telling you why or that it is even happening.
Yes, you can do better and this person likely has other character flaws that will prevent them from having successful relationships going forward.
Again, treat others how you want to be treated and that means with break ups and relationships in the future.
Ghosting someone is extremely tacky to say the least.
It's how shallow, inconsiderate, and childish people handle an awkward situation.
Don't do it. Be better than that!
What goes around comes around and if you mistreat people, I truly believe and have witnessed bad things coming back to such people.
Plus, you are the one who has to live with yourself and then be your true self around someone at some point if you want to experience real intimacy.
Bottom line, show compassion, integrity, and respect to others.
If you've been ghosted by your boyfriend or girlfriend, I'm sorry. I know it hurts.
I hope that the next relationship you are in is with someone with more class, character, and integrity.
People like that are out there. Show some self respect and do not reach out to this person anymore in any way, shape, or form.
Believe it or not, doing that is often powerful enough to pull them back to you.
The decision you'll have then is, do you really want them back?
